Tetiaroa

Tetiaroa is an atoll that is part of the Windward Islands in the Society Archipelago of French Polynesia. The atoll is the only low-lying island in the Windward Islands archipelago, and is attached to the commune of Arue in northern Tahiti. It is famous for having been the property of Marlon Brando. Today it is owned by the French Polynesia, but still under a long lease granted to the actor, the interior of the island is not accessible to the public. However, the part of the coastline or coastal paths remains accessible, being part of the public domain. The atoll has a private airstrip, located on motu Onetahi, and served by the company Air Tetiaroa.
