Located in the western part of the Society Islands, the Pearl of the Pacific is about 230km from Papeete. Surrounded by a lagoon and a breathtaking coral reef, Bora-Bora has at its center the remains of an extinct volcano rising to 727 meters, offering hikers a breathtaking view of one of the most beautiful lagoons in the world. Bora-Bora is an important international tourist destination, famous for its hotels on stilts and the richness of its seabed, which is a true paradise for manta ray enthusiasts.
